Many people may experience acid reflux, indigestion or heartburn from time to time. However, if you experience acid reflux symptoms more than twice per week, you may have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Medication
Nexpro RD 40 Capsules is a combination of two medicines: Esomeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Esome prazole works by blocking an enzyme called gastric proton pump, that is responsible for the acid production. Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of the stomach muscles. Together, Nex Pro RD 40 Capsules 10 helps treat acidity related problems.
You are advised to take Nex Pro RD 40 Capsules 10 for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience some common side effects such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side effects do not require medical care and will gradually resolve over time. However, if you persistently experience these side effects you are advised to talk to your doctor.
Symptoms
The most common symptom of GERD is persistent heartburn, which may include:
- A burning feeling in your stomach that may extend to your chest, neck, and throat
- sour or bitter taste in the back of your mouth
- regurgitation of food or liquid from your stomach back into your mouth
Other possible symptoms of GERD include:
- A feeling of fullness or a lump in the back of your throat (globus sensation)
- chronic cough
- a hoarse voice
- bad breath
In some cases, people may experience dangerous symptoms associated with GERD. These are usually persistent and may get progressively worse despite medical treatment. Alarm symptoms may also indicate an underlying condition.
Alarm symptoms may include:
- Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
- Pain when swallowing (odynophagia)
- nausea or vomiting
- weight loss
- anemia
- is bleeding
- If you are experiencing any of these, seek medical help.
Symptoms in Babies
It is normal for babies to regurgitate or vomit food occasionally. But if your baby is spitting up or vomiting frequently, they may have GERD.
Other signs and symptoms of GERD in infants may include:
- refusal to eat
- trouble swallowing
- to strangle or strangle
- wet burps or hiccups
- Irritability or back pain during or after feeding
- weight loss or poor growth
- frequent cough or pneumonia
- difficulty sleeping
If you suspect that your child may have GERD or another health problem, talk to a doctor.
Reason
GERD commonly causes acid reflux, that might result from improper functioning of the lower esophageal sphincter.
The LES is a circular band of muscle at esophagus’s end.
Once you swallow it, it relaxes and opens to get food and liquids to pass from your mouth then to stomach. Later, it closes again.
Acid reflux occurs when your LES does not tighten or close properly. This allows digestive juices and other contents of your stomach to rise up into your esophagus.
Your LES may not work properly if you:
- Having a hiatal hernia: This happens when part of your stomach moves above your diaphragm toward your chest. If your diaphragm is damaged, it may prevent your LES from working properly.
- Eat large meals frequently: This can cause distension in the upper part of your stomach. This distortion sometimes means that there is not enough pressure on the LES, and it does not close properly.
- Lying down too soon after a meal: This will not create enough pressure for the LES to function properly.
Other factors, including those listed below, may also contribute to heartburn more than twice a week.
